In Oceanport, John Bennett is taking on the job of acting borough administrator. It s a far cry from his former posts as State Senator, Senate Co-President and Acting Governor. Monmouth County Musings reports that Bennett’s career as an elected official ended when he lost his reelection bid to the Senate to Ellen Karcher in 2003 after the Asbury Park Press gave extensive coverage to a billing error on Bennett’s part as Marlboro Township attorney.
