A story running on MyCentralJersey.com about a lawsuit alleging anti-lesbian bias against the women’s college dean has been picked up by USA Today. It’s a natural transition — owing to the fact that both are owned by Gannett, and Rutgers staff has been making news for all the wrong reasons in the last year.
As everyone breathlessly awaited an announcement today on the cause of the Seaside fire (it was ruled accidental), Blogfinger in Ocean Grove questioned why for-profit businesses have been pledged money while Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association, a private not-for-profit organization, still awaits funding to rebuild the boardwalk there.
The story of East Rutherford’s embattled “highline” has been covered locally by the South Bergenite, but has also made it big — with coverage by Pat Battle of NBC New York (we know this from visiting theSouth Bergenite Facebook page).
The Record posts a lovely review of James Gandolfini’s last film performance. Columnist Virginia Rohan writes, “James Gandolfini was such a good actor that as you watch the new movie Enough Said — and fall in love with his funny and endearing character, Albert — you can actually forget for long chunks of screen time that the real man is gone.”
Finally, Kevin Bacon, the pig, is on the loose in South Jersey.
