Ju-Don Marshall Roberts is director of the Center for Cooperative Media and oversees the work of the NJ News Commons. Previously, she was a general manager and senior vice president at Everyday Health and an executive editor and senior vice president at News Corporation. Roberts worked in leadership positions at The Washington Post for 17 years, serving as the editor overseeing its digital operation before leaving the company in 2009. Roberts is an industry leader, serving in organizations such as the Poynter Foundation, the Online News Association and J-Lab. Debbie Galant is director of the NJ News Commons. Before coming to Montclair State to start the Commons, she was co-editor of Baristanet, one of the first hyperlocal news sites in the country, which she founded in 2004. Mary Mann is the deputy director of the NJ News Commons. Previously, Mary has contributed to news outlets including Reuters and NJ Spotlight. Mary spent three years at Patch.com, covering the hyperlocal beat at Maplewood Patch and then managing Patch’s seven sites in Union County. Shawn Lockwood, our administrator, has more than 23 years of administrative professional experience, working in office management, human resources, and customer service. She was special projects coordinator in the office of the Dean of Student Affairs and Medical Education at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Joe Amditis, our coordinator, graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in Political Science and Criminal Justice. He is a cofounder and former director of operations at Muckgers, an online, student-run, hyperlocal publication serving the Rutgers-New Brunswick community. Colleen Leigh Ryan, our graduate assistant, is a graduate student in Public Relations and Organizational Communication at Montclair State University. Colleen graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Television-Radio from Ithaca College in May 2012. Besides working as a graduate intern at NJ News Commons, Colleen is the social media manager for Title Boxing Club of Parsippany and is a contributor to the online magazine Awesome Hollywood.
Andrew Guadagnino, our intern, is an undergraduate student in the Communication and Media Arts Program at Montclair State University. Andrew is currently a senior at MSU who also has a minor in Business. Besides working as an intern at NJ News Commons, Andrew is the Vice President, co-founder, and former social media manager of the Montclair State Wrestling Club.
